Russ Pommer

Russ Pommer is responsible for the companies’ interactions with U.S. federal agencies, including the Departments of Transportation and State, and foreign governmental entities on behalf of Atlas Air Worldwide and Atlas Air to advance the companies’ strategic interests and ensure full regulatory compliance. He is also actively involved in intergovernmental aviation negotiations and contributes his counsel in regards to many of the companies’ commercial transactions. Russ also helps to develop and advocates for Atlas Air Worldwide’s legislative and public policy priorities.

In his legal capacity, Russ advises on a variety of issues that include regulatory matters, route rights, customs, government contracting (including military contracts), U.S. trade restrictions, environmental regulations, trademark, antitrust, anti-corruption and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act compliance.

Before joining Atlas in 2001, Russ was a partner at the Washington, D.C., law firm of Verner, Liipfert, Bernhard, McPherson and Hand, specializing in aviation law.

Russ received his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his undergraduate degree from Williams College.
