|AAWW helps bring holiday cheer to our troops!|
Tuesday, November 28, 2006 -- With help from AAWW, nearly 25,000 troops at Camp Anaconda in Iraq will be able to send holiday wishes home to their families. That's because we've made a significant donation to Adopt-A-Soldier Platoon (AaSP), an organization that “adopts” troops in Afghanistan and Iraq and provides them with care packages and correspondence from individuals and organizations back home.
As part of AaSP's “Holiday 2006 DVD” Project, Atlas, and other sponsors like Fujifilm USA, The Pepsi Lipton Partnership, Bridgestone/Firestone and P.C. Richard have donated product, services or money to purchase and ship 25,000 DVDs and a number of camcorders to Camp Anaconda so that all of our troops there may record special holiday messages for their loved ones.
For our troops, thoughts of home are never more poignant than during the holiday season. Through AaSP's Holiday 2006 DVD Project, AAWW is proud to help bridge the distance and foster the hope and goodwill that this season is known for.
