| Statement concerning Miami Airport incident | ||
| Atlas Air, Inc. confirms that a fiberglass fairing from one of its freighter aircraft, Registration No. N429MC, dislodged from the aircraft upon approach into Miami International Airport. The flight was en route from Santiago, Chile, to Miami. The fairing came to rest in a parking lot of a nearby shopping mall. The plane landed safely at MIA and we understand no one was injured and that there was no property damage.
Atlas is grateful that no one was injured and is investigating the matter further. Atlas is also cooperating with the appropriate authorities in their review of this matter. Atlas takes this matter very seriously and will be conducting a thorough investigation. | |
